They're not going to lose at home to the worst team in the league that just played last night
The other good news is I think we can use the travel excuse for tonight’s game too. But probably not the next one |

The Stars are far from the worst team in the NHL. They are good team that is off to a terrible start and is fragile right now. The Flyers need to get after them and keep Dallas frustrated. |

Although they're humans and not robots so the travel surely had an impact, I'm sure the coaches are preparing them properly. As I understand it, sometimes coming back after a long road trip can be a struggle as they have to take care of family things etc.
They don't use it as an excuse when talking to the press, but it makes sense to me. Again, I know they are pro athletes but they're not robots. |

Does sending Bunnaman down and not bringing anyone else up mean Patrick is getting close to playing? |

I’d really just like to see an entertaining game; good goaltending, some goals scored early and moving the puck out of their own end with purpose. |

How do you explain that despite the score, the Flyers played a stronger game on the puck and carried play for the majority of the game in the 2nd half of a back to back in Edmonton after even more travel time then they did the night before in Calgary? |

How do you explain why Carter didn't play well or why they didn't finish? Tired? Intimidated with family in attendance? We don't know.
Also, I expect that the coaches read them the riot act because of the poor effort the night before and they put forth the effort. Doesn't mean they aren't road weary. There are any number of effects that their early sched might have had. It's not an excuse nor should it be used by the team, but it might be a reason for them only having a 2 2 and 1.
What about the idea that first game home after a road trip can be a challenge due to factors i mentioned? Is that an imaginary thing as well? |

Madness. I tell you what, i wild much rather have had the team get a 7 game home stand after the Prague trip just like Chicago was given. |

Still early but I feel that Patrick's injury ripples through the line up. We have 5 fourth line players on the 3rd and 4th lines. JvR is not being helped with Laughton as his center. Pitlick might be a 3rd liner but we are missing Patrick. |

It was not a situation that happened late in the game due to score effects. Shot attempts were 15-11 in favor of the Flyers in the first period. 35-24 after two periods. Shots were 16-8 in favor of the Flyers in the first period. |

You didn't answer my question. You don't have any evidence to support your opinion that travel was a factor. You're ignoring the obvious evidence that it did not. Your premise is simply based on an assumption of what you think should happen because they're human. Analyze the game. That's where the evidence is. Bill in his blog said the travel excuse doesn't wash. Why do you think he has that opinion?
How does a team that is road weary turn it on late in the game of a back to back at the end of a road trip and all those miles? |

I shut the game off pretty early on, but weren’t the oilers up by 4-1 before the midpoint of the game? The oilers goalie was playing well and it looked like everything the Oilers put on net went in. Hart was pulled in His first hometown game. They a had a lousy previous game. The coach has been harping on them to shoot more. Tired or not, I can see how the Flyers were motivated to put a lot of pucks on net in that game. |

No, it means Fletcher has a level of respect and love for Chris Stewart, the person, that clouds his ability to accurately gauge the ability of Chris Stewart, the hockey player. |

When looking at whether a team is road weary from travel, you look at their energy level. Does it wane through the game or does it remain at a high level or even increase as the game goes on. A team that is road weary and tired does not raise it's energy level as the game goes on, in the 2nd half of a back to back after a very long road trip. Maybe if this road trip had occurred at another later point of a long grinding NHL season but now now. Any thought that the travel had anything to do with the outcome, is BS. The Flyers played a sloppy and poorly executed game in Calgary. Against Edmonton they were simply outscored by two superstar players who carried Edmonton to victory along with suspect goal tending from the Flyers. Along with a lack of finish on their part.

Nah, it means that Bunnaman is not going to be in the lineup anymore so they sent him down and haven't decided who to call up yet.

Was hoping Dallas woul win last night. Leaves the game open to some Philly bad luck. Flyers always seem to be that bounceback team for teams on a losing streak or slumping players. |

The Flyers 4th line is a train wreck just waiting to happen. The center is a guy who is much better on the wing. One winger is a rookie with limited skills and the other is a guy who has no business skating in an NHL lineup.
I have no problem with them sending Bunnaman down, but why not recall someone? Hell, even Andreoff would be a better option than Stewart. |
